LTR Series 18" 0 to 40 cb Irrometer Moisture Meter

This irrometer is for use in container applications. Simply install in soil for continuous readings of how much water is being taken in by plants. This is done by use of the tensiometer principle as water is drawn by the roots a partial vacuum is created and pressure is recorded on the gauge. The sealed water-filled tube has a special vacuum gauge and a porous tip, which is effected by a partial vacuum caused by the roots taking in water. A low reading indicates waterlogged plants that have inadequate root aeration, a medium reading indicates the need to start irrigation and a high reading indicates low moisture content and means plants aren't growing at their maximum.

With this information you can water your plant with exactly what it needs without over or under-watering. This is ideal for field applications and has a replaceable "Quick-Flo" ceramic tip. The gauge reads 0 to 40 centibar giving you the option to use this with large or small plants. Included with this irrometer is the SU1001 service unit which includes a hand vacuum pump, 1 bottle of irrometer fluid, 25 monthly chart forms and 1 reference book. This is all you need to use your irrometer quickly and effectively.
