For measuring Electrical Conductivity between 0 to 1,999 µS/cm such as drinking/irrigation water or healthy soil. For higher ranges between 0 to 19,999 µS/cm such as fertilizer  and hydroponic solutions, waste water or high salt soil solutions use the HI 98306 (Conmet 2).

The need for a more accurate and reliable method to measureconductivity and TDS prompted HANNA instruments to develop the Conmet 1and Conmet 2 .
 
These meters utilize the proven 4-ring potentiometricmethod of measuring conductivity in liquids. The 4-ring probe isconstructed of a rugged resin shaft that houses 4 stainless steelrings, providing excellent immunity to hostile environments. The 4-ringtechnology provides a reading that is almost immune to dirt and uncleansamples. The smooth shaft of the probe makes cleaning quick and simple.
 
All the readings are temperature compensated. 1 point calibration isperformed by turning the trimmer on the instrument body.
