ATAGO's 65th Anniversary, the PAL-α is a special model with a wide brix range (0-85%) offered at a very reasonable price. PAL-α is useful for measuring most kinds of samples as well as samples that are in the cooking process. Designed with a water resistant feature, the PAL-α can be washed under running water. PAL-α is equipped with the same great features as the other PAL units.

Atago's Digital Hand-Held "Pocket PAL" refractometers are ergonomically designed to fit in the palm of your hand for portability and ease of use. 

The PAL could not be easier to use. Simply add a droplet of distilled water to the prism and "zero" the meter and it is calibrated, then simply add a droplet of your sample to the prism and start the refractometer. In just seconds the refractometer will give you the precise brix reading without the ambiguity of where the line crosses the scale as you sometimes get with the optical refractometers. 

 The meter is completely washable and equipped with an External Light Interference mechanism to prevent false readings outdoors or in well lit areas.
